If you are a Muslim fan attending the World Cup in Vancouver, this page has everything you need: mosque locations, prayer times during the tournament, and practical tips for praying on match days.

Prayer Times During the World Cup

Vancouver has very long summer days. Fajr is early and Isha is very late.

June 2026 approximate times:

| Prayer | Time | |---|---| | Fajr | 3:45 - 4:00 AM | | Sunrise | 5:10 AM | | Dhuhr | 1:15 PM | | Asr | 5:30 PM | | Maghrib | 9:15 - 9:20 PM | | Isha | 10:45 - 11:00 PM |

July 2026 approximate times:

| Prayer | Time | |---|---| | Fajr | 4:00 - 4:15 AM | | Sunrise | 5:15 - 5:30 AM | | Dhuhr | 1:15 PM | | Asr | 5:30 PM | | Maghrib | 9:10 - 9:00 PM | | Isha | 10:30 - 10:45 PM |

⚠️ Key note for match days: The 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM kickoff matches will overlap with Maghrib. The 9:00 PM match will start right before Maghrib. Plan accordingly — pray Maghrib before entering the stadium if timing is tight, or find a quiet spot inside.

Prayer Spaces on Match Day

There is no dedicated prayer room inside BC Place. Here are your options:

Before the match:

  • Pray at your hotel/Airbnb before heading to the stadium
  • Find a quiet corner in the plaza area outside BC Place (bring a portable prayer mat)
  • The park area near Science World (5-min walk from BC Place) has grass and relative quiet

During the match:

  • The concourse areas inside BC Place have some quieter corners, particularly on the upper levels
  • Ask stadium staff — they may direct you to a designated quiet space (World Cup venues sometimes provide these, but it is not guaranteed)

After the match:

  • If Maghrib falls during or right after the match, the plaza outside Gates C/D on the east side of BC Place is less crowded than the north exit
  • The grassy area near Creekside Park (Olympic Village, 8-min walk) offers a peaceful space

Portable prayer mat: Bring a compact travel prayer mat. It folds to the size of a book and fits easily in your clear bag. This is the single most useful item for Muslim fans attending matches.

  • Carry a small water bottle for minimal wudu if needed
  • Some newer public restrooms downtown have lower sinks that work in a pinch
