Vancouver World Cup Guide for Canadian Fans
This is it. Canada is hosting the World Cup and Vancouver gets TWO Canada group stage matches. This is a once-in-a-generation moment. Here is how to make the most of it.
Canada's Vancouver Matches
- Canada vs Qatar — June 18, 3:00 PM PT at BC Place (Group B)
- Switzerland vs Canada — June 24, 12:00 PM PT at BC Place (Group B)
Canada's other group match is in Toronto (the opener). But Vancouver gets the two crucial home matches that will likely determine whether Canada advances.
Getting Tickets
If you do not already have tickets, your options:
- FIFA Official Resale Platform — The only legitimate resale option. Check FIFA.com/tickets. Prices will fluctuate.
- Last-minute release — FIFA sometimes releases additional tickets 2-4 weeks before matches. Follow FIFA's official channels.
- Do NOT buy from scalpers, Craigslist, or random websites. Tickets are digital-only via the FIFA app. Paper tickets do not exist. Screenshots are scams.
⚠️ Read our scam warning guide before buying from any unofficial source.
If You Don't Have Tickets
You absolutely can still have an incredible match-day experience:
- FIFA Fan Festival at Hastings Park — Free entry, 25,000 capacity, giant screens, live music, food and beer. This is where the party is.
- Granville Street Pedestrian Zone — 5 blocks closed to traffic. Bars, outdoor screens, fan culture. This will be ELECTRIC for Canada matches.
- The Pint (Granville St) — The unofficial Canadian supporter bar. Multiple floors, dozens of screens. Arrive 3 hours early for Canada matches or you will not get in.
- The Cambie — Cheap, close to BC Place, packed atmosphere.

Canadian Supporter Culture
- The Voyageurs are Canada's official supporters group. Check their social media for organized supporter sections, tifo, and march-to-the-match events.
- Wear red. All red. The sea of red at BC Place will be one of the defining images of this World Cup.
- Learn the chants. "Oh Canada" will echo around BC Place. Bring your voice.
